The program offers three Courses of Doctoral Programs in Science and Engineering such as Course in Material Science, Course in Environmental Science and Infrastructure Engineering and Course in Life Science that are specially designed for international students. The medium of teaching, i.e., class instructions, and research supervision under this program is English. Needless to mention, both the master theses and doctoral dissertations are accepted in English. Though Japanese language is not a requisite for a master's and/or a doctoral degree, Japanese language courses are also offered for international students and their spouses, to help make their life more enjoyable at Saitama University. As of current, there is a total of 70 students from 19 countries registered in the original brother program of the International Graduate Program on Civil and Environmental Engineering.

The program starts either in the beginning of April or at the end of September and require a standard full-time attendance of two years for a Master of Engineering degree and three years for a Doctor of Engineering/Doctor of Philosophy degree. A large number of students are financially supported by scholarships such as the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology of the Japanese Government (MEXT). Additionally, scholarships funded by several public and private organizations are also available for international students.

As of March 2018, 478 students from over 25 countries have already graduated from the original brother program and are engaged in academic and professional activities all over the world. We take pride in the achievement of our graduates who are well established in their respective careers.
